Celeste + Eric | Edmonton Photography

February 28, 2010

This weekend I met up with Celeste and Eric down at the Edmonton Kinsmen Sports Center for their engagement shoot.  We had a great time chatting about BMW’s, the pros and cons of working from home, and how Eric proposed to Celeste in the bathroom of their resort…….without a ring!  Obviously the location and lack of ring didn’t matter to Celeste.

Thank you everyone for stopping by! Enjoy the photos below.

Alana and Greg – Edmonton Photography

January 21, 2010

Well, it has been a ridiculously long time since I posted any new photos to this here blogsite.  It’s been a combination of being busy, getting over the christmas haze, and just not having much to post really.

Last week I headed down to Government House Park in the Edmonton river valley, and then up to the Royal Alberta Museum for Alana and Gregs engagement session.  Now, excuse my unprofessional language here, but these two are a ‘fricken riot to be around. Non-stop laughs for two hours! They’re both hilarious and look great – it’s no wonder they are together. I’m looking forward to spending more time with these comedians later this year at their wedding.

Thanks for stopping by! I promise more good things to come very soon!

Natalia + Jean-Francios

November 12, 2009

This could be my last engagement shoot of the year, which is a sad thought for me. With the temperature beginning to drop and the daily dose of vitamin D starting to increase, I hate though thought of hanging up the camera for the season.  It’s been a fantastic year, with amazing clients who’ve treated as family in their home, have been patient, and loved their photos. And i’ll miss this.  There is definitely some kind of high us photographers get after a shoot. That confident feeling knowing we created some art that they will love, put up in their home, and share with their family and friends.  I have to credit all my clients for making my career worth it, by giving me the opportunity work with them, to get to know them, enabling that artistic high.  It definitely makes the stress, high-workload, financial difficulties, and mothers-of-the-brides (i’m kidding moms – you’ve all been great!) of this career easier to deal with.

Natalia and Jean-Francios (JF) are no exceptions. They are definitely unique souls, and I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with them.  I asked them how they had met, and I was given a hilarious play-by-play story, and when finished I asked “ok, now seriously, what’s the real story?”.    It was the real story!  It’s amazing, and sometimes hilarious how two people meet, in sometimes typical places, but still being so unique and unusual.

Natalia and JF are members of local band The JFR Project, and i’m stoked to hear them play at their wedding in February. Thank you Natalia and JF for a great afternoon – I am looking forward to February!

Thank you everyone for visiting!

Tara and Derek : Edmonton Engagement Photography

November 8, 2009

Saturday I had the opportunity to drag Tara and Derek around downtown Edmonton for an engagement session. We trekked (took the elevator) to the top of a parkade to begin the session. I’ll definitely be scouting some newer, and hopefully higher parkades for next time!  Elevators are a must though.

Tara and Derek are both working their way into accounting, however, from what it appears to me, Facebook Farmville, is getting in the way!  All kidding aside, Tara and Derek were wonderful to photograph, and should forget about accounting and start posing for photographs for a living. They will be getting married in July ‘10, and i’m totally looking forward to it.

Dave + Amy : Edmonton Engagement Photography

October 21, 2009

Wow, on to my third post in just three days! Almost something I should be proud of, but it really only means i’m just getting caught up somewhat and it just worked out that way! But i’m definitely going to try and keep postings on my blog more regular, and just not photo-centric.

Here we have Dave and Amy! I met them through a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend kind of situation.  They hired me to come along on their destination wedding to Mexico this December.  It turns out that those resort photographers just aren’t that great – but that topic deserves a post all to itself!  For Dave and Amys engagement shoot we made our way to the Terwilligar Dog Park in south Edmonton.  They brought along Fiji, who they adopted from the Edmonton Humane Society. Fiji is about 15 months old, and she is very much an important part of Dave and Amys life.   Thank you for the opportunity you guys – i’ll see you in Mexico!
