It was about 12 or so years ago, at I think was my first job, at this place called Congo Bongo – a children’s fun centre – where I first became friends with Erin. Working at Congo Bongo was the kinda of job you base a sitcom or movie on. It was the most ridiculous, insane, fun, dramatic, bizarre, and disgusting place to work. The things I had to do for $5.90 an hour would make some of you very i’ll. These were the days before hand sanitizers could be found in every public building. Yet, when they shut the place down, it was a sad day for all of us. That place was legendary. A myth.
We all parted ways, some of us stayed friends, and we all finally had a chance grow up, and move on to bigger and better things. I was fortunate enough to stay friends with Erin, and keep a small piece of the Congo Bongo legend alive. Erin became very good friends with my wife, Lindsey, and had her as a member of her bridal party.
Erin used to tag along with me on out of town weddings back in the day, which gave her plenty of time to fill me in on the trials and tribulations of all her ex-boyfriends. I’ll never forget the wedding we shot in Whitecourt where I got to hear all the details about this new guy she met online after breaking up with her other boyfriend. What a relief this was. Finally, to hear things about a boyfriend of hers that wasn’t a jack-ass. And finally, many years later she marries Brian, a one-hundred percent standup guy, one of the most funniest, most intelligent people i’ve had the pleasure to know.
This wedding was a whirlwind of events – stressful, hilarious, and wacky. My wife was a bridesmaid, the florist, and emcee. Brian and Erin catered all the food themselves – probably the best pulled pork i’ve ever had.
All the best Erin and Brian. I look forward to many more years of insanity with both of you.

Great stuff! I really love the ring shot…wow.
Gorgeous pictures and ironically she has the same wedding dress that I wore for my wedding!
Gorgeous gorgeous images
I love the sunlight on them in this last one!
Erik the photos look fabulous – i love the one of the two of them sitting down. Lindsay great job on the flowers!
ERIK!!! These are fabulous!!!!!!! I love them so much!!! <3
You are incroyable, as is your amazing wife!
Fantastic pics Erik, I love the B&W ones, thank you for being such a huge part of Brerin’s special day!
Spectacular pictures Erik! Not only have you taken some fabulous photos but you were the most inobtrusive and inconspicuous photographer. You were never in the way – just quietly and professionally got the job done. You’d never really know the wedding had a photographer if not for the fantastic photographic evidence.
Beautiful story telling Erik! I’m assuming that is Erin’s Mom on the bouquet.
Absolutely stunning! Very creative and unusual wedding photos!
Erik, have I told you lately that you are AMAZING?!?!
LOL…thanks Sharon…but i know you’re exaggerating
Paul – yep, that is Erins mom on the flowers. Erika, the maid of honour made it.
I’m not exaggerating, are you calling me a liar?
No, I just don’t know how to handle the compliments very well
Erik, these are phenominal! I love the last shot. The bouquet shot choked me up a little. I am a softy I guess, but it was a very touching detail. Congratulations to everyone!
Whuddup Erik!!! Stopped by your site and your photos are gorgeous:) Keep contributing those beautiful pieces of artwork….Take care hon!
