Not to long ago in May, David and Elyse inquired with me about photographing their wedding. When it comes to the usual stages of planning a wedding some might consider May being a little late to hire a photographer for an August wedding. Thankfully, i’m not that busy of a guy and I was still available. I feel so fortunate to have been hired by David and Elyse – they are both such wonderfully complex, but also laid back people. David is full of energy and creativity, and this all comes out when showing his love for Elyse. Elyse is quiet, however her personality is strong and giving. Both David and Elyse lead lives in which they give back to the community, and truly help make the world a better place.
Their entire wedding took place at Camp Encounter, about an hour and a half northwest of Edmonton, where David works as a camp administrator. The day was spent entirely outside, including the reception. The ceremony was presided by the hilarious and kind Father Catfish. It was definitely a ceremony unlike any other I have ever seen. It was a perfect day for both of them. Their day is beyond the words in this blog post.
Thank you David and Elyse for welcoming us to your wedding and making us feel at home. Lindsey and I were truly lucky to have been there. I am excited to show these few photos to you!
Elyse’s dress was amazing – the detailed pattern on the dress was unique and suited Elyse’s personality perfectly.

This photo I can’t take credit for. Everyone now and then my wife Lindsey whips out the camera and gets a few good shots. This time she took
one that was blog worthy!

This here is Elyse’s bouquet created entirely by David with flowers found on Camp Encounters land. The mug was a gift from Elyse to David.

This was the second ever sunset photo I have ever taken. It’s not the greatest of shots, but i’m proud of it and wanted to post it here!
