I’m a little late with this post – but not too late. In case you haven’t heard in the news, the Edmonton Humane Society has recently acquired fifty (yes, 50!) small dogs from California. These – i like to call them accessory dogs – are very popular in California, and unfortunately the majority of them end up in the pound. Rather than having them all put down, the EHS took fifty of them under their wing. They will all be receiving veterinary care, behavioral testing, and then put up for adoption. They will all be adopted very fast here!
I managed to get through photographing thirty of the pooches. It is amazing to be able to see each dogs own very unique personality. The EHS will easily be able to pair up a pooch with it’s new owner! Here are just a few! One of these days i’ll be better at getting shots where they are looking at me.

These are great Erik. Love the contrast on the green grass!
