Its almost midnight, and I am lying here in bed working on this post. I loved these photos so much that I wanted to get them posted before I go to sleep.
Last year Kerrie Souster had come to me looking for a photographer for their wedding. We got the contracts all signed up, retainer paid, and I looked forward to their big day. Then the anvil hit me on the head. The very next day I realized I had a prior appointment for their wedding day that couldn’t be changed. I was left looking like a shmuck, and handed their deposit back, and found Rob and Lauren to photograph their wedding instead. Feeling like a schmuck and hanging my head in shame, I was surprised to get a call from Kerrie asking me to photograph her little boy Ryder. I was delighted!
Newborns are quite an experience to photograph. They require so much patience and timing. They are so fragile I refuse to hold them. I drop so many things on a regular basis that it would be unwise to put a child so small into my arms. Ryder can really strike a pose and work it for the camera. Kerrie is a ballerina, perhaps Ryder inherited a bit of performance.
Thank you, Kerrie, for calling me. Meeting Ryder was a joy. Enjoy these photos below.
