Today I spent some more time doing volunteer photography work for the Edmonton Humane Society. It’s a lot of work photographing all of the adoptable cats – which there are many of! These images below are all straight out of the camera – even the black and whites. I decided to test out some in camera processing and black and white techniques to see how it helps with my workflow.
On May 30th, the Edmonton Humane Society will be hosting their grand opening in their fresh out of the oven new facilities – which I suggest you all attend! Zack Stortini of the Edmonton Oilers will be on location giving autographs. As well Marty Chan, a local author will be on location signing autographs for his new childrens book, “True Story”, inspired by two black and white kittens he adopted two years ago. Zack didn’t remember me from when I met him in line at the Save-on-Foods two years ago – but that’s coo’ – I won’t hold it against him! He’s still the extrememly down to earth guy I met back then, and it’s awesome that he’s being a spokesperson for the EHS. Marty Chan is awesome, and i’m glad I met him. His personality is wonderful to be around, and i’m happy he’s local! If you have young children please check out his books!
Thank you for stopping by!

Great pics Erik…they are all great!!
Erik, if I could, I would adopt every cat you photograph! Hell, I’d even adopt Zack Stortini but something tells me he might not want to live with me and five hundred cats.
Wow! The photos are amazing. Truly a talent to be able to get cats and dogs look like they enjoy photos. Also, incredible talent to make me not look like a doofus! I just might have to get you to do my resume shot.
Thanks so much for sharing the photos. Great to meet you.
