Weird. Hostage situation at discovery channel headquarters. I'd be pissed too - shark week should be two weeks long! # 2010/09/01

Jasper Long Weekend: Emily and Michael

February 21, 2009

Hello!  The February long weekend Lindsey and I headed west to Jasper for some good ol’ hangin’ out and for a day of skiing at Marmot Basin. On the sunday we met up with Emily and Michael at the Jasper Park Lodge for a simple photo shoot.  I shot Emily and Michaels wedding last year, but we thought it would be a good idea for an easy post-valentines day shoot. After the first ten shots or so, something wasn’t quite working out with my camera.  The white balance could just not be nailed, and seemed to be very random, and the shutter didn’t seem to be operating like it’s usual self. The histogram on my display wasn’t showing me accurate results according to what the image preview was showing. So, I pretty much knew this was the death of my camera. I got more life out of it than I should have. I continued the shoot with the random results my camera decided to give me.  Thanks Emily and Michael for the shoot!

Sheri and Michaels Wedding

February 9, 2009

I started off my wedding season with the amazing wedding of Sheri and Michaels.  Sheri and Michael had my name passed on to them from Krista and Dale whos wedding I shot in the fall last year.  The two weddings shared many of the same friends and family and the aura of this circle of family and friends is good for the soul. I waited all day to be able to post some amazing images from their day. One of the shots below entered my personal top 5 favorites. You’ll find out which if you keep reading. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day. Enjoy.

The details matter.  Wedding boots.

Excellent balance. But, I just realized the hair sticking out. Damn.

I don’t know why, but I look forward to the dress shot the most all day long.

The flowers were stunning. I had to snap people out of it when stuck in a daze smelling these.  Kimberly and her crew at Best Buds Flowers are the masterminds behind the flowers of the day.

Finally, a chance for Sheri to take a breather.

I’m skipping the ceremony – I need to get to bed. But check out Sheri below.

Finally, Michael. An excellent person to be around, and from what I heard, a man with good style. I like the tux…I might steal the idea for my wedding this year.

All the ladies.

Them together.

I love this shot. Top 5.

Here we have a style of photo I probably never would have taken. Its far from my usual style. I don’t know how it happened – I apologize.

And again, the details matter.

One last thing. I never thank her enough, but with out my assistant/fiance, Lindsey busting her hump all day carrying my gear around, helping out the wedding party, and keeping me sane throughout the day, my day would be very difficult to get through. Thank you, I love you.
